Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information

We are committed to supporting our members who are concerned about their finances because of the coronavirus pandemic. If you are experiencing or foresee any financial difficulty, some information about how we can help is given below.

Mortgage payment holiday

As per the government announcement on 17th March 2020, we can offer our mortgage customers a payment holiday for up to 3 months. The payment holiday is available to customers who are up to date on their payments, and able to self-certify that they are impacted directly or indirectly by COVID-19.

If you are, or expect to be, impacted by COVID-19 please telephone us on 0161 923 8030 from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, or email us at mcs@themanchester.co.uk

To be granted a payment holiday you will not need to provide any evidence.

If you would find it helpful for us to help assess your situation and explore other options we will be happy to do so.

If you go ahead with a payment holiday, it is important to understand that the missed payments will still need to be repaid in the future, and that interest accrues on the full outstanding balance.

Customers with mortgage arrears

If you were already struggling to keep your mortgage account up to date and you are now affected by COVID-19, get in touch with us on 0161 923 8030. We will talk with you about your options, which can include not making any payments for up to 3 months.

Savings Customers

If you require urgent access to your savings or need any other assistance please contact us on 0161 923 8065 from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. We'll be happy to discuss how we can help.
