Buying your own home is one of the biggest commitments you will make in your life so it is vital that you can talk to someone who understands your needs and can help you through this important time.
 
Our Mortgage Customer Services team are able to provide you with fast efficient information including personalised quotes and can give you any further information that you may require.
 
Simply follow the steps below:
 
Step 1
Initial Disclosure Document (IDD)
We are required by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) to provide you with an Initial Disclosure Document (IDD). This document outlines the mortgages we offer and what service you will be provided with. The IDD will explain whether you will be paying a fee for the service, who regulates us as the lender and where to go should you have a complaint.
You should save a copy of the IDD for your records.

Contact Us
Call our head office branch on 0161 833 8860 to discuss your requirements with one of our representatives. Our lines are open 8.30am–5pm Monday – Friday. Alternatively email us with your enquiry to enquiry@themanchester.co.uk stating the most convenient time/method for us to contact you.

Step 3
Personalised Key Facts Illustration
Before you can proceed to a full application we need to issue you with a Key Facts Illustration that details the specifics of the mortgage you are applying for. You will be issued with this once you have told us your requirements. You can choose to receive this either by post or email.

Step 4
Full Application
Once you have decided that this is the mortgage that you require we will send you a full application form for you to complete and return back to us at our head office,

Information:

When you contact the Society it would be helpful if you could provide us with the following information:
 
  • Your personal details
  • Your employment and income details
  • Your bank details
  • Details of the property you are buying or re-mortgaging
  • Your existing mortgage details (if applicable)
  • Your National Insurance Number (found on pay slips and P60s)
 
This information can help us to offer our most suitale mortgage product for you.
 

Documentary evidence:

When applying for a mortgage we will ask you to provide, along with the application form, a list of documents that will help us verify your status.
 
With the application we ask you to provide:
  • Proof of Identity – Passports or drivers licence including paper counterpart. We will accept originals or a certified copy*
  • Recent utility bill as proof of residency
  • Proof of income- If you are employed this is in the form of the latest 3 months consecutive payslips. If you are self employed then we ask for a minimum trading period of 2 years and the latest 2 year's accounts. On occasion you may be asked to provide 3 months recent and consecutive bank statements.

* By Certified Copy, we mean a photocopy of the document which has been seen by a professional person** and certified accordingly. The person signing the document should declare that the original has been seen, and provide their signature along with their contact details.

 

**By Professional Person, we mean an Accountant, Bank/Building Society Official, Barrister, Company Director, Dentist, Doctor, Justice of the Peace, Officer of the Armed Services, Optician, Police Officer, Post Office Official, Solicitor, Teacher, or someone of similar standing in the community.
